fulcrum_64th Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Hello, As per the title: A-10c HUD Ghost effect / flashing artefacts when flying in Patches of fog using CV1. Best Fulcrum :pilotfly: win 10x64 - Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero - I9 9900K@5.0GHz - Samsung 970 EVO m2 2TB - RAM Corsair 64GB DDR4 - Corsair H150i pro - Strix RTX 2080 Ti- oculus rift S and a few other goodies :joystick:
Highspeed1964 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Not surprising, given the nature of the HUD. It's a projected light image onto clear glass. Some of the light will pass through and if there's another surface to reflect it (such as the fog itself) you could get this ghosting. Highspeed
fulcrum_64th Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 (edited) Have you ever seen a reflection of yourself in fog ? :-) Fog doesn't reflect light or at least only in a small fraction: iit diffuse, scattered and diffracts light (for e.g. The rainbow effect) Trust me I did use HUDs in fog in RL and there isn't any ghost effect. Highspeed1964 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 No, but then again "I" do not project light either! :-O However, I do trust your experiences now that I know you have RL experience so I'll leave this to others to comment on. Highspeed
