deanbrh Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Hey. Sorry if this has already been asked but I am contemplating buying a vive and was wondering how the 980ti handles it on DCS (particularly 2.0). There's alot of conversations on these forums about performance issues so it's putting me off making the purchase a little bit. Can anyone with a similar system to mine report on framerates, settings and performance to inform me before my purchase? I'd really appreciate it. I've got a 4790k, gtx 980ti and 32GB ram
PreussLee Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Well, i use a 980ti...and im happy witg the vr performance on the vive! Youre rig should totally be fine for vr! i7 6700k @ 4,5 Ghz | MSI 1080ti Aero | 32 GB RAM 2133 | 500 GB SSD | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | HTC Vive |:pilotfly:
deanbrh Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Thanks. What graphics settings do you use and fps do you get?
PreussLee Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 I still change my settings from time to time tryin to maintain 90 fps...what helps a lot is turning shadows off or flat, no traffic, low water, medium visibility and a pixel density not higher than 1.4...Some guys also turn msaa off, so you can set pd higher, but for me 4x msaa is a must to have a good looking game... i7 6700k @ 4,5 Ghz | MSI 1080ti Aero | 32 GB RAM 2133 | 500 GB SSD | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | HTC Vive |:pilotfly:
jimiC Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 yeah 980ti is definitely enough for a good outcome now that the latest patches have come out for DCS and also beta for the VIVE I use 1.4 pixel density and everything else is on high settings with shadows off completely and fairly short range on grass/trees etc.
