CU 40/42 never lit

Reading the manual and Chuck's guide I understand that if I'm in range for an IR shoot the CU 40/42 light should go green.

 

However in the training mission and the "easy target mission" when I'm after my target using IR weapons even though I'm in range (less than 1 Nm) the light never come.

 

I can shoot and the missile hit sure enough but am I missing something ?

The CU-40 only works with the R-55, one light for each missile, and for the R-60/M, the CU 42. The light indicates that the seeker is locked.
