trigen Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 So the sun is quite strong in Vr. Anything that can be done about that? sadly I don't have a working hand to cover my eyes with! Some mod for reducing it or shades would be perfect 1080 ti, i7700k 5ghz, 16gb 3600 cl14 ddr4 oc
Baggy MacDouche Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 As bad as it may seem, it's nowhere near as harsh as the real thing, and never will be. Well, not unless they develop a fusion display capable of outputting close to 100,000 lux. The Vive is capable of about 300 lux. I've read about people disabling Direct Mode so they could go into the Nvidia CP settings and manually adjust the contrast/brightness of the HTC display. I don't think that would be a viable trade-off for DCS though. Maybe you could just swing by your optometrist and pick up one of those plastic shades things they give you after dilating your eyes and stick those in the Vive. ;) Corsair Graphite 780T / ASUS Maximus VIII Hero / i7-6700K@4.5GHz / Corsair H110i / 32GB DDR4 PC-2666 / ASUS 1080 Strix / EVGA 850 Pro / Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD / Win10x64 / Samsung UN48JU7500 4k / Logitech G910/933 KB/Headphones / Razer Naga Epic Mouse / MFG Crosswinds / TM HOTAS Warthog / HTC Vive

Maverick_NL Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Welcome to VR indeed :) What you can do is Turn HDR off so the sun isn't bright anymore at that moment. When i fly formations with my team, i turn HDR off. MrMaverick Pilot in the RAZBAM Harrier DIsplay Team Mavericks Youtube: My Youtube Channel Discord: https://discord.gg/MRU8m5m

You put shades or something in front. Fly into the sun in VR and you can either look to the side only or be screwed, its plenty bright enough and fills the screen quite well even when looking out to the side. So it could use a option like they have in the Gazelle 1080 ti, i7700k 5ghz, 16gb 3600 cl14 ddr4 oc
