Hey guys,

Loving my new rift! But as the wow factor of the immersion starts to wear off, I'm running into practicality concerns, mostly related to the low resolution.

Most are already well documented (spotting targets, reading MFCDs, etc). However, I've just come across one I haven't seen mentioned yet.

Anyone else having trouble seeing tracer, specifically when coming right at you from the front? Tonight, playing A10 Operation Bactria (one of my favs), I got knocked down by a ZU or ZPU, firing from directly head on during a gun run. Normally, I spot the tracer and fairly easily jink my way around the bursts. However, in the oculus, I didn't even see it coming, despite being right in front. I think because there was no cross movement of the tracer (side to side), it got lost in the pixels.

Anyone having similar experiences, or finding tweaks to help get around it? It's disconcerting to know I may no longer be able to spot a threat from directly in front like that.

Thx!

Is this in 1.5 or 2 your seeing this? I don't have problems spotting tracer from any direction TBO but I fly in an older version of 1.5,

if I fly in 1.5 Beta I don't seem to get any flame from missile's but I haven't noticed the tracer so it could be related. I don't know if this is a bug though because I use the old version of 1.5 and have very old Nvidia drivers in order to get it to run smoothly so not having flames from missile's is probably my fault

1.5, release version.

It's getting better as I get used to the reduced clarity. With my old setup, tracers would jump out at you very clearly - now you have to look harder for them, which truthfully, is probably more realistic. It's hard to see tracers coming right at you since the phosphorescent "glowing" part is on the backside of the round.

I don't think it's a bug.
