Fuel management, correct reading of fuel.

I find the gauges to not be accurate when the fuel lever drop below 1/4 tank. it often just drops from say 1/4 tank, to zero very fast. I would have expected more linear changes, but seems to change with spurts. Is this my imagination fuel usage readings? Thanx.

 

I am not saying I have a good understanding of reading al the instruments, but it seems like one moment you have a little fuel left, then you take your eyes away for a few minutes and you are empty... :doh:
