Presently, change of the UI language (menus, user documentation, training, missions, campaigns, cockpits, etc.) is done manually by repairing DCS installation. During the repair some of other language files (e.g. flight manuals, training missions and videos) are deleted and replaced with their versions in the selected language. I personally, prefer having docs and missions of Russian aircrafts in Russian, while keeping other mods in English.

Could we just have an option on the main DCS screen allowing quick switch from one language to another without re-torrenting and deleting other languages' files?

Since your installation only contains files for a single language, how do you expect to change it without downloading additional files? Or do you want the base installation to contain files for every language that is supported, thus making the installation even larger than it already is?

Seems to be an unnecessary increase in the download size, not to mention the additional coding needed, just to support the VERY small number of players that would utilize such an option.

That would multiply the size of DCS.

At the moment, not so many missions are multi-language.

So instead of X missions we would have X times Number_of_available_languages missions.

That will change once multi-language missions are implemented across the board.

Also instead of Y flight manuals we would have Y times Number_of_available_languages manuals.

I don't feel it's the way to go, to solve your "problem" which is not that common.

A better way would probably to be able to select which language to use per module, but that also would create problems (at the moment, many modules share the same localization files in the sim, for example input translation). So not gonna happen soon.

Finally, a simpler way: get two copies of DCS! I use DCS release in English and DCS open beta in French. Double the disk usage but works great (and I'm one of not-too-many people who, like you, likes to use different languages depending on this or that).

You can do that, or use 2 copies of the same "branch" (Release, OB or OA).

Az'

Great minds... :)

Another thing for the OP to consider. ED's repair function already makes switching languages easier than most any other game.

Also, in rereading your post. You want this function to be module specific, which would be far more complicated since, as Azrayen stated, localization is not done at the module level for most, if not all, modules.
