Never knew that it used a 'new' and improved label system in 2.0, over the 1.5 branch. But Ive slowly started the transition over to 2.0, and wanted to enable the labels, and use my own custom ones. But rather than just grabbing them from 1.5, I went in to make something new, just incase things were different. And they were, and really handy for us VR pilots - heck, for anyone really.

Some of the lovely new things are:

- You can adjust the position of the label, or the dot . as I like to use, in the horizontal and the vertical.

- You can blend the label opacity in and out.

- You can blend the label color with background I guess. Havent really tried this, since I use dark grey for everything.

And there is probably a lot more goodies in the bag, but this was just a quick play around here tonight.

It works really well. Had a quick stab at it, and attached what I have so far. I will surely tweak over time, but for now its a huge help in the merge, without looking too artificial, especially when merged with a tiny little F-5 :). Also gonna be very helpful once we get to fly around Normandy in the small warbirds.

Just use mine, attached, and dump it in your

C:\Users\'Your username'\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha\Config\View

Or copy it from your Open Alpha's \Config\View folder and put in above location. That way it doesnt get overwritten every time there is an update.

I should probably explain what I changed, added in my own there

Only planes have labels, and I just use a dot . centered as much as I can on the plane

Same color, 50.50.50 for both sides

From 0-600m there is nothing

Then it starts blending in to 2000, where its peak opacity is (0.5)

Then it fades out again to 6000, which is roughly where the post effect dot appears.
