Hi all,

We actually did ok in the first run of recruiting. 13 pilots. Problem was that few of the pilots wanted to help run the squadron and those who volunteered were not able to spend the time needed due to real world issues. If you are looking to get in on the ground floor of a new squadron and help to shape it. Then please visit us at vmfa251.com. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

We are planning on flying the F/A-18C when it drops. We fly any mod right now. I am a former Marine pilot that flew the CH-53E. So the plan is to adapt the Marine Corps way of flying.

Really enjoyed my time with VMFA-251. Fantastic group of guys to fly with. Hope you're successful in attracting some new pilots.

It was fun Kippy. You are always welcome if you ever want to fly with us again.

first of all, I wanted to just go ahead and introduce myself as the new adjutant for the DCS:VMFA-251 Thunderbolts.

I also wanted to say that four of us got into the air this last night, and it was a lot of fun. But, I think I can safely say that we all need a lot of work. Furthermore, being a part of a squadron has more to do with learning how to work with the other pilots than it does learning a specific airframe. I say all of this to point out that this is the time to join this squadron. Join us while we're still new at this. It will be a whole lot more intimidating when you are the only one that can't fly formations.

I'm not saying that there's no expertise in the squadron, but I'm pretty sure we all feel a little noobish after last night.

Anyway, that's my spiel.

Until next time. Signing off.

Have recruited some great pilots. No experience necessary as we can teach you all you need to know. I am a former Marine Corps CH-53E Pilot.

We are now into night systems. Worked through high light levels and low light levels. Worked with the TGP and demonstrated how to use the pointer to mark targets. Tonight is formation flying in low light conditions.
