Hey there good people, I was recently given some helpful tips on targeting as my MAVs have been constantly behaving badly of late ie: locking on to DIRT!!#!@sad.gif So I tried this setting a Markpoint as my Steerpoint procedure and after a few attempts seemed to work out pretty well but now I have to lock on to a moving ground target and was wondering can I still use this same system to do that? And once I noticed when I engaged my target with the Laser I got a flashing P on my TGP not a L or B but that only happened once.

Thanks very much but I'm good with all that. I follow the procedure and system, tried force correlating and everything but MAVs are so stupidly stubborn and at the moment I'm stuck in a night mission and they're not doing what they're supposed to. My question directly is about Markpoints set as Steerpoints and whether or not they could apply to a moving target but I'm pretty sure they can't. Thanks again anyway.

Markpoints and steerpoints are static points in space. If the target gets out from under the steerpoint, using the steerpoint to aim with won't work any more. Thus, locking on with the TGP and using it as your SPI.

The flashing P means the TGP is in IR-pointer mode. The IR pointer is basically a type of laser that's visible in night vision, so you can easily point out targets in the dark. It can't be used to guide laser-guided weapons, though, so make sure you're in L(aser) or B(oth) mode before dropping those bombs.

Thank you kindly, I appreciate those tips .
