Dehuman Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Low fast and level is a pretty effective way to use snake eyes
Maulkin Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Yeah I agree with Dehuman. For snakeyes I fly low and parallel to the ground...no dive. When you are landing you should aim for about 160 knots crossing the threshold. You were something like 230 and you still had 80% throttle which is why you overran the runway. Azrayen Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 (edited) When you are landing you should aim for about 160 knots crossing the threshold. Errr... Not quite. You should aim for 14° AoA (use dedicated brakets in the HUD as guidance for your velocity vector). If you're on glidepath and at 14° AoA, then your speed will be the proper one. And its value will depend on a variety of factors (aircraft weight being the most obvious) so it may change at each landing. Edited April 15, 2017 by Azrayen typos
