Good morning to all, I am new to the forum and for having the form A-10 (over FC3, F-5, F-86) for a long time, I never tried as frightened by the complexity of the simulation, while being lover of planes modern and not military.

But now I decided to start and the first thing I could use some advice on a good profile for the X52 (NOT PRO). Please do not tell me that it is better to program it yourself (perhaps it is also true), but I have absolutely no time and a profile for the hotas is useless to start.

Thank you all

I'm using the X55 and my advice would be more general, don't use the device SW at all to assign buttons and switches, get familiar with the possibilities to define DCS modifiers, those a quite handy to use your X52 mode switches - each mode is activating a different user defined modifier and so a different layer of controls

1.) take a drawing or photo imaging SW of your choice, create one file for the stick, another for the throttle and import a good picture of your devices.

2.) identify the functions you need to have quickly accessible like the functions related to sensor, weapons, countermeasures and assign them inside the DCS option as you like them to the first layer.

3.) identify the aircraft operating functions like trimming, gear and flaps control, autopilot ... and assign them to a second layer.

4.) Identify emergency functions and assign to a third layer/mode.

Document your assignments in the picture/drawing, export those to PNG format and copy to your kneeboard files so you have them handy inside the cockpit.

This approach takes a little more time and thinking - your first try will also not be the final, but let you develop the skills needed and the flexibility for the future adaptations.
