Thrustmaster T-Flight Pedals problem

I noticed recently that my nose was incredibly floaty in the Spitfire when targeting ground objects.

I then noticed in Axis tune, that my Thrustmaster T-Flight Pedals were not behaving as they should.

Can you guys have a look at http://www.igmack.co.uk/rudder.mp4 and see what you think?

In the video, I've included doing the same for my TM Warthog joystick pitch axis, and it is perfect.

Not a normal behaviour for sure.

Have you checked the switch on RJ12 connector? Is the switch in plane position?

 

 

Then check the behaviour of the pedals in the calibration tool supplied by Thrustmaster.

Do you see the same stucky/spiked movements?

Thanks Automan, yes the adaptor is set to plane, and the behaviour in the calibration tool has always been weird. I've never understood that software!

When I load it, I get the centre graphic jumping all over the place. (Brakes are both OK.) If I move the rudder to left and right max, then the gauge stabilises at 512 for a while. After a few seconds, it goes back to jumping around. (Incidentally, what are the values on the left?)

If I press 'Set Centre', then everything stabilises, the app asks me to unplug to save settings. I do that, then replug and the whole thing starts again!

Where are these 'settings' saved to?

I don't know if controller calibration is saved locally in the registry or in a rom inside the controller.

Have you tried to start calibration tool with admin rights on it?

OK, I've got a new problem. The tool has obviously saved settings and the centre position is stuck at 855!

So, I am now only getting values of 680 (full left) to 1023 (full right)!

Can't see how to get the 'normal' settings back.

Yes, see attaached. However, it's gone mad now. Pedals don't travel properly in the TM Control Panel.

I need to reset to the default. Any idea how to do that?

How do I uninstall and reinstall these pedals to remove the current settings?

Mhm why the window is so messed up? Are you on Win7 or Win10?

The Yellow slider choose the deadzone, you should move up on the left pedal, if moves...

Try:

-Change USB port

-Start calibration tool to see if ok, if still not changed, without touching pedals, press in sequence "Set Center" and "Default Deadzone" and "Apply"

I'm on W10, and am now back to the brakes working, but the rudder shows centre at 1023 when Calib Tool starts! Pushing on right does nothing (still at 1023) and pushing full left shows 675.

How can I remove everything to do with these pedals and start again?

The problem will be if the settings are stored in ROM.

Thanks a lot for that. I have managed to get the pedals back to where I was at the start of this thread.

I think there is something faulty with these pedals as full travel with left doesn't show full travel on the graphic either in the calib tool, or in the joystick controller properties panel.

Also, the input value still jumps around with any slight movement.

I think I'll have to call TM support on Tuesday.

Are the 3 green bars aligned in joy controller properties or not?

If you move the Z axis (rudder), the green bar reach up and down?

 

 

You can try reusing the calibration tool, and move the slider to adjust the left pedal only.

If you can solve with software adjustments, I would avoid RMA, cause of long times to get a replacement (at least in Italy :cry:)

Yes, the 3 green bars line up in that panel before I touch any pedals.

Moving the rudder, does not give full deflection when pressing the left as I described in my previous post.

I know what you mean about RMA times!

I opened up the pedals unplugged and replugged all the connectors, but, unfortunately, still the same problem.

Not sure whether I would recommend these pedals, but I'll wait and see what TM have to say tomorrow.

It could be a defective potentiometer. Wait for TM instructions :(

My rudders are still in health for now, but potentiometers are subjects to faults
