A.I. Viggens can use countermeassures even though they have no pods loaded.

While building a mission I've realized that although I have not loaded CM pods on my wingman, he could chaff and flare at discretion!

Not a Viggen thing its a DCS thing.

 

AI have chaff/Flare even if no Chaff / Flares are loaded.

 

So its the same on the Mig-21Bis and others etc its not a Viggen problem.

PS: Difference is that the Bis at least has CM in the airframe and does not depend on pods.

No, the Mig-21Bis does not have any countermesures in the airframe, the ASO-2 pod or the jammer pod is needed.
