Sgt Obi Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 So I'm not sure what is causing this, currently its about 50/50 if I can make it through a single player mission with out getting a "DCS has stopped working message". This seems to happen at different phases of the missions as well, sometimes after takeoff, sometimes after engagement. its a bit random. So far this only happens with the M-2000 module, have played MIG-21, A-10C, and FC3 just fine with no issues. I saved a copy of the current log but I'm not proficient enough to know what any of it means. Has anyone else been getting this?
Azrayen Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 No issue here. Share your .log, maybe someone can read it more proficiently?

Zeus67 Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Attached is from the most recent crash event. The log does not help much since all it says is that DCS.exe crashed. Next time it happens please take note of the following: - What mission were you flying? - What was the task you were doing/attempting to do? - How many aircraft (friendly and enemy) were around you? Give us your best estimate. - What were the weather settings? If the mission is not part of the default package, please attach it to your report along with the log and crash file. unknown Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I did a small mission yesterday, myself in the m2k against 1 OSA SAM and some infantry. This was the first time that DCS crashed to desktop, in other missions i did with the mirage there was no problem. Tried the mission a second time and it worked, an hour later i had the same problem, the mission crashed. No mods installed, but no other modules tested yet. In both cases DCS crashed while the OSA was firing its missiles at me. Attached in the zip file are the dcs log, crash and dmp files of the last crash. unknown Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) It's just an Osa and some infantry placed near my airfield. I tried it today with some other aircraft and the Mirage with different loadouts but it worked flawlessly. I don't know if the two crashes yesterday were coincidence or if there was something wrong with my pc. I think i have the mission with all the settings like yesterday attached, was there something suspicious in the log files? Edit: I attached my dxdiag log, there are some dcs entrys, appcrash and RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64. But it is in german. unknown Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I just had 2 crashes in a row in my "mission". After that i tried to record the flight so you could see what maybe leads to the crash but of course dcs didn't crash my two efforts to reproduce the crash. I keep trying, maybe i can catch it on video. In both cases DCS crashed while the OSA was firing its missiles at me. Attached in the zip file are the dcs log, crash and dmp files of the last crash. I checked the log file and fortunately it has a better explanation. There seems to be a problem with the Missile Launch Warning System, the D2M. But the problems does not seem to occur in our code but in DCS underlying code. The basic MLWS has detected the missile and then it chokes when trying to update the detected threats list. Can you fly this mission with: a. D2M turned off. b. D2M turned on. And see if it crashes on both, one or none? BTW, how many missiles had the OSA launched before the crash? unknown Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Can you fly this mission with: a. D2M turned off. b. D2M turned on. And see if it crashes on both, one or none? I will try both variants, but it will probably take a couple of days(RL work). But for now all crashes i encountered were with the D2M turned ON. But it doesn't crash everytime i fly this mission(same settings in the cockpit), for example i tried it ~6 times with recording software running in the background to show the crash and it worked flawlessly. BTW, how many missiles had the OSA launched before the crash?Every time it crashed after the first salvo of two missiles in the air. Not sure if the OSA wanted to launch the third missile at the time of the crash but there was still always minimum one of the two missiles in the air and i looked in the direction of the OSA and incoming missiles after my evasive maneuver(including countermeasures released). Edit: I had the idea that there are maybe some more information in the tacview files but sadly they are all 0kb of size related to the crashed missions. unknown Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) b. D2M turned on. I did it today quick and dirty(cockpit settings...), 3 missions flawlessly(1 to 3), 2 with crash(4 and 5, 5th on video) and the 6th mission was ok again. So 6 flights, 2 crashes. I will try without the D2M now and edit the results here. Edit: I did 12 flights with D2M turned OFF and i had no problems so far. I will redo the tests tonight or tomorrow to verify my results. I recorded the video in 1440p but right now youtube shows only 1080p, i hope you can see what i was doing. As soon as the video goes black(doesn't check the box to allow desktop recording) i saw the DCS World main menu with the windows message box "programm stopped responding" or something like that, my OS is in german. ;) Edited May 8, 2017 by unknown Modules: KA-50, A-10C, FC3, UH-1H, MI-8MTV2, CA, MIG-21bis, FW-190D9, Bf-109K4, F-86F, MIG-15bis, M-2000C, SA342 Gazelle, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, F-14, C-101, FW-190A8, F-16C, F-5E, JF-17, SC, Mi-24P Hind, AH-64D Apache, Mirage F1, F-4E Phantom II System: Win 11 Pro 64bit, Ryzen 3800X, 32gb RAM DDR4-3200, PowerColor Radeon RX 6900XT Red Devil ,1 x Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe, 2 x Samsung SSD 2TB + 1TB SATA, MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals - VIRPIL T-50CM and VIRPIL MongoosT-50 Throttle - HP Reverg G2, using only the latest Open Beta, DCS settings
