SageOT Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I have had one of those Chinese EBay 40w laser cutters for about eight months now. Used it once and the software is just crap. I see online some folks have converted them over to an Arduino which then lets you cut/engrave directly from InkScape... Have any of you done this? I can Google, but if there is a fellow DCS simmer that I can bounce questions off of as I go along that would be great. ;) Thanks, Sage Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk VFA-25 Fist of the Fleet[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Carrier Strike Group One | Discord
Thadiun Okona Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 If no one here has what you are looking for, I'd comb the reddit wiki and maybe ask on the laser cutting sub https://www.reddit.com/r/lasercutting/wiki/k40 https://www.reddit.com/r/lasercutting/
LynxDK Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 May i ask for what software you are using for the Laser now? We are using AutoLaser for our Laser, i dont know if yours can use the same. What exactly is wrong with the software? is it the positioning you dont like or? Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
SageOT Posted May 8, 2017 Author Posted May 8, 2017 I'm not even sure what it's called. It's proprietary to the cutter I think, you have to have a USB dongle in for it to work. Lack of options, not user friendly, doesn't zero with a darn, can only take Corel draw files, etc. I have been looking there and there is a Google group about it too... Thanks guys.
