Captain Spears Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Hi guys, (the obligatory) sorry if this has been asked somewhere else. I've searched and can't find the answer. Using a single monitor, can anyone advise how I can get a letterboxed resolution such as the one in this video? Thanks! S.
Winston 60 Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 He appears to be using an ultrawide 21:9 aspect monitor. Many companies like LG, Dell, Samsung, etc, make them in various sizes. I've owned my 34" LG ultrawide for two years and would never go back to a 16:9 or 16:10 monitor ever again. NeilWillis Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Certainly looks like that. Given the right hardware, you can configure DCS World to work using any standard resolution. The limitation will be your monitor's inability to work in the 21:9 format.
Ranma13 Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 If you want to replicate the 21:9 feeling on a standard 16:9 monitor, just type in the resolution manually in the settings. There's a dropdown that lets you pick the resolution, but what might not be obvious is that you can type in whatever you want into the text box as well. For a 1920x1080 monitor, you'll want to use 1920x823.
