Airbrake Functionality with Gear Down

According to page 76 of the Viggen Flight Manual

When the landing gear is deployed the airbrakes automatically retract. In order to extend the airbrakes the switch has to be held in an open position.

 

I use the discrete airbrake commands (force out and in). Currently (1.5.7), when deploying the gear, the airbrakes remain deployed and the LUFTBROMS annunciator remains lit. Additionally, when using the discrete airbrake commands the brakes act as if the gear is up. When using the "B" toggle key, the brakes don't even momentarily deploy when the gear is down.
