sc_neo Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Hey lads, In case a pilot blacks out during high g maneuver: do ''modern'' jets have some automatic blackout/redout recovery mode or such, where it automatically steers the jet onto a stable, horizontal flight path until the pilot becomes fully conscious again?
Sweep Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 You mean like this? Yep, auto-GCAS exists. Breathing appropriately helps, though. :P Lord of Salt
sc_neo Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) i am not too familiar with the HUD symbology...is there a symbol or something that shows whether a recovery system kicks in? I only see the fly up warning... Edited July 8, 2017 by sc_neo
Sweep Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I think "FLYUP" indicates that. Edit: Btw, I don't believe the Hornet has an AGCAS or similar. Lord of Salt
The Black Swan Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 I think "FLYUP" indicates that. Edit: Btw, I don't believe the Hornet has an AGCAS or similar. A documentary I just recently watched said it did. But I've never read about it in the NATOPs. GeForce GTX 970, i5 4690K 3.5 GHz, 8 GB ram, Win 10, 1080p
