Maybe I'm the only one who has ran into this dilemma, I doubt it.

When searching for guides or suggestings such as "what are the best mods out" etc etc

I often find myself looking at information that is several years old and or no longer correct/viable.

In this case, what are the "must have" mods for DCS in its current state. I'm not referring to 2.0 since is so new, but 1.5BETA for sure.

Or for example I'm interested in better sounds, and performance mods/tweaks for VR regarding settings in game and NVCP (RIFT.)

But if I search for this I'm presented with an overload of often conflicting data spanning years of posts many of which are no longer accurate due to game updates or other time related variables. I'm sure the info I need is out there, but its just trick to find.

ideas? tips? tricks?

Sound mods are hard as they are normally user dependent on the sounds that they want to here. A lot of people use the mod pack that I have created that includes around 40 sound mods for various aircraft from various authors. I think it makes the game much more immersive.

Some of the mods, when I was making this pack were definitely old and I had to change some file structures, change volumes, and even re-record, however I think it was well worth it. If you really want something specific to you, you have to go through and listen to each sound file and compare it to other sound files in other mods which is what I did to create mine or rip sounds from videos.

Its up to you whether you want to create something specific to you, recording your own sounds and compiling sounds from all the DCS sound mods from around the net, new and old, or use someone else's creation. Neither are bad. Just depends on what you're looking for.

I think I replied to you in your last thread, but if that wasn't you, here is the newest updated version of my mod pack that works with 1.5.7 and JSGME.
