Lyrec Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 About a month ago I did a reinstall of Win 10 and of DCS 1.5 open Beta. Looking forward to tryout the Spitfire. But the game crashes after a few minutes in the Spitfire, as well as with the SU 25T and the TF-51D. I haven’t installed my other modules. Unfortunately, the reinstall of Win 10 and DCS didn’t fix the game crash-issues I had experienced previously. DCS logfiles attached. I hope someone can make sense of the error-messages? Any help much appreciated. And by the way, my first post – so hello to all. VIKBELL Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I have had the same problem for the last 3 updates. There are 2 categories of fighter pilots: those who have performed, and those who someday will perform, a magnificent defensive break turn toward a bug on the canopy. Robert Shaw
Lyrec Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 Solved Recently I experienced for the first time some strange dots on the Windows start screen and after a short time the screen went black. A friend did lend me his graphic card a R 280, basically a newer version of my HD 7950. With the R 280 not only the strange dots were gone, but apparently also my DCS crashes! The SU 25T, the TF-51D and the Spitfire kept flying. The ultimate test was when I reinstalled the Huey, and it took off and flew without any problems. It was truly a great moment! My DCS crashes started with the Huey more than a year ago, but I didn’t suspect the crashes to be hardware related because apart from DCS my PC in general as my other sims/games (Il2 Clod; Il2 Bos; Arma 3; Assetto Corsa; Race Room; …) worked without any problems. This leads to the following questions: Is it possible from my crash-logfile to get indications to whether the problems are software or hardware related? And the general question about how to read crash-logfiles? I was hoping for, in all naivety, the existence of a number and a list of well-known typical error messages? Apart from changing the graphics card and reinstalling the driver, I changed the audio driver from the standard Win 10 driver to the Realtek driver, and I have accepted the DCS updates. A big thank you to VIKBELL for his post. I did make me feel a lot less alone in the DCS world. I hope you have found a solution to your similar problems. And since a few days I’m the happy owner of a nice GTX 1060 6 Gb OC graphics card, looking forward to flying my old modules again and try some of the new stuff that has come to DCS within the last 1½ year.
