Peter97 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Hello everyone, I'm having kind of trouble with pitch settings on the F5. As title says, I'm flying with G940 HOTAS and I have not had any pitch related problem till I bought the F5. Problem pops up when cruising, when I want to maintain steady flight, any time I put my hands off the stick, it goes down, like it does not detect I'm in a Sim. So whenever I put my hand on it again, it recovers the position it was when I left it. Non g940 (or non FFB) people might be wondering wtf I just wrote, but G940 stick has a little IR sensor on the right side, so when you place your hand over it, system detects someone is there and FFB enables itself. For FC3 planes (like F15C) the problem dissapears, joystick loses little "force" but the plane remains on it's place. I know, I know. F5 is an "oldie but goldie" and has to be trimmed everytime you change your flight attitude and the F15 is a modern badass that trims itself (as long as I know), but I should be able to maintain a proper steady flight when cruising, and all I can do now is focus 100% on attitude and vertical speed indicator making ridiculously small moves just to make it move from -50 to 50 ft/min. I have tried changing axis settings on DCS (dead zone and curvature), but it did not really help. And of course I have assigned trim control to one of the hat keys in joystick. Anyone know how to proper set this beast? Thank you for your attention.

Fri13 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 It is btw better to put a tape on that FF sensor (and it is btw Force Feedback, not a Force Feed Back... ;) as so many gets it so wrong) so it doesn't move around when you move your hand. There can as well be a problem of "Sync Controllers" option that puts the stick in wrong mode while you jump to aircraft or it just reads it wrong somehow anyways. So try to just to tape the sensor and restart the DCS. The FF for trimming is great, like with Su-27S you just press and hold trim button and the stick moves slowly to position where you find the trimming to be required and then it holds it there. And now if you don't have the proximity sensor covered and you release the grip? You will end up a high angle of attack as stick returns to center rapidly and you will blackout right away. With KA-50 and such you want as well it covered so you can release hand for "off-hands" flight as you can do it with that chopper. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

Peter97 Posted August 8, 2017 Author Posted August 8, 2017 Well, duct tape works fine. But I'll try to solve it the software-way. Thank you guys. P.s.: I don't know what "Sync controllers" are.
ZQuickSilverZ Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 That just means the aircraft in the game will match its controls to wherever your HOTAS controls are set at. So if you have full collective the aircraft will spawn with full collective. If you are full forward with your physical cyclic so to will be the cyclic in the game. I need, I need, I need...
