Vid60 stepper motors - where to buy

Hi All,

I am currently working on gauges for my fw190D pit, but I am still missing Vid60 stepper motor for altimeter. A have already checked aliexpress, ebay and amazon but without success.

I have done the same for X10 stepper motor as substitution but also with zero effect (even I dont know if this motor can be used for this purpouse)...

Any advice where to buy this kind of staff???:helpsmilie::helpsmilie::helpsmilie:

Why you dont use the X27 stepper motor?

That is different kind of motor similar to VID29 so with 315° movement I have 10 of them for different gauges... For altimeter you need 360°(continuous) if you don't want to use gearbox… Like here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145193&highlight=vid60

It's a simple mod to make the x27 stepper run 360 degrees but you will have to implement your own switch to mark the reference position.

OK thx I was not aware about this it can be my plan B, if I will be not able to obtain VID60:thumbup:. If you will be so kind you can share with us the way how to mod X27 (I have Vid 29 it should be the same) in between:pilotfly:.

Still if somebody has Vid60 in his possession or know way how to obtain it, I will buy it …

Sorry I don't have any pictures handy but maybe my description is enough.

 

Inside the motor, there is a groove that runs 315 degrees around. There is a small plastic peg that runs inside this groove. That is the only thing stopping it from rotating 360 degrees. With a small pair of cutters or hobby knife, carefully slice off the peg. Reassemble the case and it's good to go.

 

Then you can use a small magnet attached to the pointer and a reed switch mounted on top of the motor case or just under the pointer to detect a reference position.

 

Now you can rotate the motor full circle and use the reed switch to detect when it is at the reference position. (The reference position is just so that when you start up, you can get the pointer to a known position since you can't be sure where it was left the last time it powered off.)
