Backy 51 Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Zeus, When used as an AI aircraft, will the RAZBAM Harrier be capable of VTOL takeoffs and landings? If so, will it be able to takeoff and land from any ground location similar to what the AI helicopters can now do? I would love to see an option like that implemented if possible. Additionally, when an AI Harrier is launched from an LHA, it would be great to be able to choose between Ski Jump launch or VTOL launch. Thoughts? Cheers, I don't need no stinkin' GPS! (except for PGMs :D) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I'm curious to know as well, although I assume implementing these features will something Eagle Dynamics will have to handle rather than Razbam Sent from my SM-J320V using Tapatalk
AG-51_Razor Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Keep in mind that unless the Harrier is very lightly loaded, it cannot take off vertically and the vertical landings we're all so looking forward to are done at the conclusion of a mission, where the ordinance has been expended and much of the fuel has been consumed. This is the reason that I asked in here a while back, about some kind of special FARP for the Harrier because, even though you will be able to land vertically on one of those helicopter pads, once you refuel and rearm, you're not going to be able to take off again and will most likely break something if you try to taxi off the FARP that is presently in the Mission Editor. Zeus67 Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 All I can say is that AI AV-8B NA behavior is being tested right now. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."

Zarma Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Then you can land on a FARP and takeoff from the road next to it. I am using FARP close to a road to rearm the Viggen in my missions. i9 9900k, 64 Go RAM, RTX 4090, Warthog HOTAS Throttle & Stick, Virpil AH64 collective, TPR rudder, MFD Cougar, Trackir 5 Pro, Multipurpose UFC, Alain Dufour's TEDAC and Oculus Rift S (when I want some VR), http://www.twitch.tv/zarma4074 / https://www.youtube.com/user/Zarma4074
