_Dredd Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Has anyone made a collective by modifying an old Logitech or name brand steering wheel? I have an old CH Throttle; and an old Logitech steering wheel(which I think will be the easiest modification to create a Collective. I couldn't find any google pics to see if someone had done this before and how they went about it. Sokol1_br Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Ch throttle base don't serves well for make a collective because their movement is back and fort and not in the desirable arch. And their electronics is obsolete for helicopter use - only 8 bits (256 "steps"). But you can use this throttle grip as collective grip, with some "plastic surgery" modifications. IMO adapt the wheel mechanism probable result more work than make (DIY) a mechanism from scratch. And with actual low cost of Arduino's for use as USB controller don't work try re-use the wheel electronics, those PCB wiring is not made for manipulation and can broke easily, better sell then.
