lazerwolf Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) V 1.5.8.12265 Oculus Rift CV1 I played for hours and and everything worked great, then the screen started randomly freezing for 3-10 seconds randomly within 20 seconds consistently. The freezing is happening in the menu as well as in game. My attempts to remedy: 1. windows update to 1709 16299.98 2. GTX-1080FTW update to 388.43 3. PC power off/restart 4. Delete temp files 5. Gave up and tried again the following day, still freezing. I'm at a loss as to why it would work perfectly then out of nowhere have issues. No changes were made to the PC prior to trying to fix the issue. Everything is working great in 2.1!DxDiag.txt Edited December 4, 2017 by lazerwolf

I (and a buddy of mine) have enormous problems with all nvidia drivers of the 388 series. Had to go back to one from the 385 series. We both use the rift. Maybe you have some luck downgrading your drivers.
lazerwolf Posted December 4, 2017 Author Posted December 4, 2017 I appreciate the suggestion although 388.13 has been rock solid for me in all games and has been fabulous in 2.1, this issue came out of nowhere after several hours of gameplay and hasn't gone away despite my best efforts. Thank you for your reply!
Rocky49 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I'm having the same issue. Slightly better when using Nvida Driver 388.13 than 388.43 Went back to 385.41 still not stutter, lock screen free. my 2.1 installation is running excellent on all three of these drivers. Never had this issue in 1.5.6 or 1.5.7 although frame rates were slightly lower in .5.6 and 5.7 System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2
Rocky49 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Still having this issue with latest Nvidia drivers set 390.70. I hope this issue goes away Wednesday with the change over to 2.5. My 2.2 Alpha has none of these long freezes/stutters. lazerwolf Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 FIXED: Move DCS over to the C:/ where the OS is installed. Try that Rocky!
