funkyfranky Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Hi all, I wanted to start up this lovely bird according to the NATOPS procedures. However, I'm hanging already at the Pre-Start (page 7-12). BATT and GEN switches are on at this point but all warning and caution lights remain out. According to the NATOPS manual, you should at this step check, e.g. whether the four landing gear indicator lights are green. But they are also out. I have to turn on the APU so that the Harrier "awakens". But the APU should not be necessary at this early step in the procedure. Interestingly, when I turn off the APU again, the important lights stay on. So basically, what I want to say is that there might be a problem with the electrical buses implementation. Plus the question, if all systems are implemented further down the line, will we be able to start the aircraft according to the NATOPS manual? Zeus67 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 On a cold and dark aircraft, all warning, caution and advisory lights remain dark until one of these two conditions are met: 1. You click the Compass light/test lights switch to the test light position. 2. The engine is on ground idle. 1 "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. funkyfranky Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 1. You click the Compass light/test lights switch to the test light position. Perfect :) That was what I was missing. Thanks!
