FrankTheSpank Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Everyone says "Just look at the top of your HUD", does that tell me my heading? 'cause I see no "bearing 260" at the top of my HUD. I've never seen anything saying 260 on my HUD, just this thing that looks like a ruler. Is there some video or some part in the manual that tells me how to read compas so I know what the hell people mean when they say there are bandits at 65, low, hot etc.? I use to use the map and just click on my plane to tell me my heading but that is usually disabled on servers. Also for some reason the trend on online servers seems to be no AWACS support. Before every server I went to had AWACS, I haven't seen one in over two weeks now... Thanks for any help. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
OldFrankHog Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 The "thing that looks like a ruler" indicates yoru heading in increments of 10 degrees. so for example in your picture heading is close to 04. so 04x10 = 40 degrees Join us today!!!
SuperKungFu Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 yep, and i believe one of the training videos from ironhand, or actually the stock videos, showed them. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
FrankTheSpank Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Thanks! Hopefully that will help me find my way..... to the danger zone. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 The reason that AWACS isn't available is that is provides no datalink to the US aircraft, and in the absebnce of that, it also fails to provide a reasonable AWACS operator.
