Rocky49 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 well that's disappointing. kinda a step backwards not to be able to bind controls within DCS System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2
Ranma13 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 It's plug and play in that it will be treated as a standard joystick device, but you'll have to bind the controls yourself. It won't come pre-bound like the TM Warthog controls.

That's what I was hoping, don't want to use system like TARGET just assign within DCS System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2

Rocky49 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 it will not work if it is not recognized by DCS and show up on the configuration screen and or the axis set up page System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2
cichlidfan Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 it will not work if it is not recognized by DCS and show up on the configuration screen and or the axis set up page True, but that would be a broken joystick. All USB joysticks send out DX signals which are recognized by Windows and, in turn DCS (or any other game designed to use a joystick). Fri13 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 AFAIK you need to do a minimal assembly for the stick. Then when you plug the VKB "black box" to PC with USB, the Windows will detect all the keys, axis etc correctly. Your task after that is to start the DCS World and go to each module page and assign your wanted layout just like with any other device. So yes, it is Plug'n'Play, no drivers nor software required. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
AeroGator Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) No, it is not. This is garbage, simple and plain. it will not work if it is not recognized by DCS and show up on the configuration screen and or the axis set up page 1 - Since 2005 all VKB products are fully PnP on basic level, i.e. they address directly to the USB protocol and need no drivers whatsoever. Hence, they are perfectly multi-system. You can use the same device with Windows, iOS or Linux with no driver installation. 2 - Since 2006 VKB works directly with DCS creators. Our products bearing DCS stickers are DCS official products and are natively supported throughout DCS environment. Since 2 years ago VKB provides its products to DCS for thorough testing and full integration into above mentioned DCS environment. 3 - PnP is one thing, your own game profile is another thing. You may create your unique profile for better gaming experience. This profile will be written NOT in the computer but in the device itself, and once created, can be used between many computers. In simple words, you can take your joystick to your friend's house and play there on his computer still enjoying your profile. 4 - TARGET is embedded into VKB devices. Unlike TM products, where Target is added as software, in VKB devices Target is part of their native bios prerecorded directly in the chip. 5 - VKB configurator is something you may use or may not use depending on your gaming level and how high your requirements are. It is NOT to be confused with drivers pack. It is a utility to make creating your unique settings easier. Edited December 19, 2017 by AeroGator > Best Regards from VKB Lair, AeroGator
Rocky49 Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 Guess I misunderstood what was being said on the VBK thread, as it appears to be exactly what I initially thought. VKB is like MFG when in comes to centering your hardware, you have to use the Manufacturers software, not the Windows setup. I think I mis-interpreted some posts that were aimed at users attaching a Warthog to the Gunfighter Base, at least that's what I am going to use as my excuse  Thanks all for the reassuring info. System:Motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-E,Asus ROG GeForce RTX 2080Ti OC, GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, Intel i9 9900K @ 5 GHz , cooled by NZXT Kraken X52, Acer XB270HU G-Sinc monitor, Windows 10 Pro, Warthog joystick and throttle with wasy extension, VBK Gunfighter Pro and MCG Pro,MFG Rudder, running on a dedicated 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2 Nvme , Super Wheel Stand Pro, with a HP Reverb G2
