breng4d Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Hi guys, Thanks for your great work on the AV8-B. It’s inspiring. A possible minor point concerning the flight model: In level flight, constant speed, on selecting landing gear the aircraft pitches nose up. My instinct tells me this should, if anything, be a pitch down. I wonder if you guys could confirm this. Thanks.
Capn kamikaze Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 It could be that a change in CoG occurs that could counter the drag effect. You have the two outriggers coming forwards when they drop, as does the rear gear, which are all near the CG so won't have much effect, but the front nose gear moves back as it drops quite a bit due to its shape and length, and that will move the overall CG backwards, and it doesn't have to move far on most aircraft to be noticeable.
breng4d Posted January 8, 2018 Author Posted January 8, 2018 Thanks guys, both great replies. Robmlufc, spot on! err... finger trouble, the flaps were in auto. ...Now, if I was a proper pilot I wouldn’t have admitted that, would I? Haha Thanks again mate.
