otester Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Just got it today, I think one of the LED's is broken, here is a picture of it: red highlighted = on blue highlighted = off When I reconnected the joystick the light flickered (red) but then remained off. It says on the box the LED colors can be changed, can I do this? Could it solve the problem? I am having a real headache atm trying to get this to work and decide whether its broken or not and whether to send it back for replacement. :helpsmilie:

Pilotasso Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 IM sure its just a driver issue. Does it work properly? .
otester Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 IM sure its just a driver issue. Does it work properly? Apart from the LED yes it does. When I got it I plugged it in, installed the drivers and software from the CD and then applied the new updates for them from the Saitek site. Do you or anyone else know how to change the LED color?

Black_Hawk Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Here's a quote: At the moment there's no easy/proper way to change the LED colours - the next version of the drivers and software will include a utility to set the colours of the LEDs globally across the combo. For the time being, browse to the C:\Program Files\Saitek\DirectOutput\SDK\Samples\OutputTest directory on your PC and run the OutputTest.exe file. With this you can change the illumination status of the LEDs on the stick and throttle - to get Amber just turn on both the Green and Red LEDs for that button. Do bear in mind that as soon as you close this application everything will default back to green - the same goes for if you use the Flight Sim X plug-in because the Flight Sim X plug-in has all the LEDs set to green in its code. This is why I said "globally" in the first paragraph - the new utility will be able to override plug-in specific LED colours if you want it to. Incidentally, if you write your own plug-in you also have full control of the LED colours and illumination status - therefore it is possible to make the LEDs react to in-game events. 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team

Is there a way of changing the color of POV1 ? And what should I do now? Send it back for replacement?
Black_Hawk Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Once you get your registration email post about it on the Forums, a tech support guy will tell you if it can be fixed on the software level before you spend your money on shipping back :smilewink: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
