ShadowVonChadwick Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 (edited) Twice the torrent method failed, once with net error. Speeds less then 0.5 MB Attempt at Repair ground to a halt. One case of human error of turning machine of late last night. Another attempt at pseudo torrent method fail then switch to HTTP. Both myself and a local squad member getting only DL rate: 0.5 MB/s max wit Torrent method. Currently getting up to 1.4 MB with HTTP Not impressed, over 30hr of watching paint dry. A stand alone installer via external torrent would have been better then resume would be possible. omskTransmash Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Running multiple torrent client can help a lot. at least it did for me in your DCS folder there is download / torrent folder. there are a lot of .torrent files. copy them to somewhere else download a reliable torrent client if you dont already have one. there are a lot of them. launch the torrent client and add all the .torrent files you have copied earlier the torrent client will start download files. Theoretically, the DCS native torrent client (downloader or whatever) should get the benefit from your own torrent client. If your own torrent client downloaded something, it can give it to the DCS downloader. this will be the most stable and untouched method. If you dont feel it like the two torrent downloaders (one your own, one DCS downloader) are working togheter, just wait until one of them finishes download. If your own torrent client finished downloading, [iMPORTANT] stop and completely exit your dcs downloader. confirming dcs downloader exited, you can copy/move downloaded files to your dcs folder. (/download/torrent somewhere. you will know where to put them once you see them) start dcs downloader (or updater whatever). it will recognize the newly appeared downloaded files. and start resuming from there. This method saved me somewhere 30 hours of download. Note It helps if the torrent client runs in another machine, even if it is in the same NAT / router adjust torrent client settings to get more bandwidth / connection if feels slow
ShadowVonChadwick Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 (edited) Successful with HTTP today, a bit over 7hr. Being in neither Europe or the Americas doesn't help. Had much better DL speed with the other modules, A-10c, BS2, FC2 and doing Nevada now at a reasonable bit rate. Might get to do some setup tomorrow. Have been waiting a year or so for this. Cheers & thank you to all involved.
