fretwear Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Would LOMAC re-size properly on an LCD with a native screen resolution of 1680 x 1050? Kuky Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Yes it will work fine. I use same resolution. But what Cali said, already you just need to manually change ratio aspect from 1.3333333 to 1.6 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
fretwear Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 Ok sounds good, do you all think that 1680X1050 will look a lot better than 1280X1024? That's what I'm at now on my Samsung 19''. --------------------- FX 55 Sandy@ 3.03 GHz Tuniq Tower 120 DFI Lanparty CFX 3200-DR/G (2X) X1950XTX Crossfire@ 695 core 2048 OCZ PC 3200 Platinum (2-3-2-5) Antec TP3 650 Samsung 19" LCD (8ms) Saitek X-45 HOTAS Track IR 4 CH Pro Pedals :pilotfly:
Kuky Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 oh yeah :D If you have high end video card and Core 2 Duo CPU (hopefully o/c to around 3GHz or if higher, even better) you can still run Lock On on 1680x1050 and frame rate is acceptable. I finally managed (with fresh Windows instal and some hardware change... like getting an X-Fi sound card to replace the Audigy) to have even mirrors on and 4xAA and 4xAF and Lock On is still playable. The feeling of flight is awsome on 22" and 1680x1050 :D PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

The feeling of flight is awsome on 22" and 1680x1050 :D I have X-Fi with the front panel installed as well.. but I had a very difficult time getting it to actually work.. I didn't reformat because I have a lot of files that I just didn't want to reinstall.. I was all over the Creative forums trying to find out why I couldn't get the unit to function properly, when I finally uncovered the answer.. I just deleted Quick Time temporarily and that solved the problem.... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Kuky Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Hi Blaze, I think the Audigy card I had before was the reason why with Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3GHz and X1950XTX, even with mirrors OFF, I still had noticeable micro stutters even with 30-40 FPS... I just couldn't figure out why it was still there as the system was sufficient enough not to struggle... I changed PCI latency before to 248 and that reduced it a bit... but never really went away completely. Only about 2 weeks ago I decided to get 22" Monitor and replace 19" (and man I'm glad I did, the thing is just awsome), I also purchased WindowsXP CD that has SP2 built in (as the one I had before didn't recognise HDD over 370GB and that keps pissing me off because every time I wanted to reinstall windows I would lose my partitions and stuff that was on them) and this X-Fi card (but the one without the external stuff, just the card itself. I think it's the Exterme Gamer version or something). After installing windows again and used all latest drivers, I was so happy to see absolutely no micro stuttering. The best this is that Lock On is now very playable even if frame rate was getting down to 10FPS but most of the time it's above 20FPS and I think it averages out at about 35FPS (yeah you get 10FPS over large city you get that... because of 4xAA, 4xAF, Mirrors enables with high resolution, High scenery, Medium viewing distance...yadda yadda yadda :D) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
VMFA-Blaze Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 No micro stutters here guy's.... I'm running at maximum graphics setting on all except for shadows and that's set on All planar... because of the noted Gforce 8800 bug.. FPS are very high and the game is very playable.. When I first built this system last month I was using the Asus sound card that came with the MOBO but soon chucked it out... I grabbed the X-Fi from my other system and installed it in this one, this model sound card has 3 separate panels, a game mode, audio and entertainment modes .. I normally leave it set on game and just change it entertainment when I watch a DVD... Audio is for remixing sound tracks or music tracks and at the present I'm not doing any of this ... This card is very cool though, besides all of the nice features it takes a big load off of the CPU... Oh and yes before I forget, as I'm running XP pro.. As you know XP Pro doesn't have the Media Center function but does have a more sensitive security application.. So this is the trade off... So now Media Center is really needed for a good home theatre setup... Well with the Creative remote control you do have the media center available with a push of a button ... So this does give you the best of both worlds... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
