BlacleyCole Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Hello I’m a great flyer that likes the Huey. I have a bunch of switches, rotaryencoders that I bought for a project several years ago. When I decided I didn’t have room for the pit so they and the bodnar boards have been sitting I thought Omg a generic button box before I got my riff then few in xp11 then finding dcs because it has the best helo mods that I found other sim adapt helos to use the throttle instead of the collective. So I’m getting in Voldemort with virtual carrier strike group 1 and flew tonite using my gladiator since my puma is awaiting a new pcb. So I’m thinking of building the center console on the Huey starting with what need the most the radios setup and positioned correctly so I don’t have to fumble around with the VFW hood on. My problem is someone rip my power tools saws, drill press and other tools to be able to do it halfway right, the second negative I’d I’ve lost most sensation in both hands along with my feet. So I need to pay fo the panel to be sized pilot drilled primary coating. I think I would be able to drill the hole to size install the switch, wire it up router the wire to the board then run the usb wire to a hub a powered one at that then I figure thre dcs bios should be straight forward. So if you would be willing to cut finish pilot drill each panel starting with the radio and elm panel. Contact me with a price whe we work with card board then move to metal for the panel wood for the console as I will need it cut al angle on the inside and outside of each of the four corners and around the top for mounting the individual panels to.it would be finished and drilled also so I can assemble it and take it down if I need to transport or stow. I will give starting dimensions once my seat arrives and I set up it , the puma and a cardboard for reference. I plan on taking a marker with the vr on reach for the initial item several times then move to a second it several time probably 6 or 8 toggles to begin with then mod up the frame add the top cardboard stiffen reinforce so that its usable then add switchessand rotaries and push buttons that closely represent the vr items that I will be using, the read outs and gauges will be voidsince they will not be needed as this is designed for free if it’s not to scale so be it if it work the that’s all I’m concerned with . I may make a button box for the items I need to switch on off that don’t have rl counter parts like push buttons for ai crew roe etc opening closing the rear doors. I just went through the command key words list from the Huey manual and highlighted the initial items I THINK I’ll, be needing. Later I’m thinking about redoing the collective head to match the Huey in dcs. So I really need someone who can work with metal, plexiglass and wood and may have or be thinking about getting a 3D printer that does more than plastic we will prototype in plastic but the final item will be metal front with pastiche box(es) I’m willing to pay for expendable sat cost and time at negotiated rates.
