skarden Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Good morning gents, Has anyone here gotten OVRdrop to work correctly with DCS? I got it yesterday but can't get it to work with DCS. I'm trying to do some training with some excellent Grim Reapers videos I've downloaded and wanna do it without having to take off my headset and this seemed like an excellent solution but can't for the life of me get it to overlay within the simulation. I've seen some people here talk about it and was wondering what their settings are, any help with this would be super appreciated. Thick8 Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 You can watch videos in the cockpit? That sounds like it could be useful. I used to use my IPad with monitors but didn’t know a solution existed for VR. skarden Posted May 8, 2018 Author Posted May 8, 2018 Yeah it overlays into vr and you can position it wherever you like, if I can get it to work it'll be fantastic for training. Just getting it working is proving to be a problem :/ Intel Core i9-10850K ASUS ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming motherboard Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 3080 Master 32 GB Corsair Vengeance LED 3000MHz DDR4 Thrustmaster Warthog/ HP Reverb G2
Neurowork Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 If you guys have the Oculus, you can do that natively with the Oculus 2.0 beta. You can use Oculus desktop to pin a windows of your desktop that will overlay in any VR game. I haven't noticed any performance trop doing this but I never really paid attention. When doing that it's mostly for training mission where performance is not really an issue. I find it pretty usefull to watch Cockpit Tutorial youtube videos in Cockpit. I usually set the video above the HUD area in order not to block the view too much.
