Well with some help I had my first flight in VFW or out of it withvoice attack I dropped the Viacom profile right now got a huey profile from chic who is working with me on my. 229th training. Well. The flight started off at an airfield next to tubsli(sp) I. Set rhe nav radio fo the ils at tubelisi and must not got something right as the instrument neddles never pointed either way but I did lad very nicely. If I do say myself last one of the night.i decide to experiment with the comm menu with the help of va. So I spawned a csar poor pilot. I grabbed the locator freq of 430 after many minutes I got it tuned in and took off not knowing what to expect. Not all va commands worked for me will have to work with ms voice recognition training some more. But I took off about sunset in the direction indicated afer a while I start exercising the Comm’s menu and va.i got the gunners to go hot in several steps from op free to fire gunners hold all free fire.

 

I then found the csar menu and the only thing that would work for me was have crew send off flare, no joy went further and request a second flare no joy on that one either first was sussposed to be at 9 sec at 8. I kept flying until I get no pilot in range and after the second one I turned 180 for the barn. After several minutes I’m contacted by the pilot, I. Request the flare on more time tally ho I saw it. I come I. For a landing in pitch dark I overshot the pickup zone becSe darksmoke in the dark isn’t that easy to see. On picking up to move closer the helo blades went forward and flipped the huey. So one hour wasn’t totally lost I learned several thing :

1) those thuds are an indication of small arms fire at the helo, another is the white streaks.

2)vahas great potential if it learns you voice, not sure who is going to break who at this point.

3)in csar the nub will go past the downed aircrew member you fly the radial until the pilot contact you.

4) if you take off at sunset be prepared for the dark learn you lighting command and buttons, learn how you have the search light setup

5) have you NVG setup before you take off

6) choose 10-20 command that you will be using during the flight and make sure va understands them .

 

7) any flight time is good time as long as your flying

8)I already was suspecr7 that the tension knob on the collective needed tight in a tad as the collective will creep down.

9)I learned that my legs rest at different places. I would be flying at speed around 60 it’s and up I would center the pedals. I have read the are not needed at those speeds as much because of the shape of the fuselage well I hut my lt leg in2012 and to have more surgeries on it in 2015. The right leg is un injured. I would be flying along with my left hand pushing on my left leg and look up at the controls do Higgs and my pedals are half way in to the right. Recenter look again ther a quarter in recenter, never once we’re the on the left side or centered.i have to leave my feet on the pedals since first my feet are numb from diabetes and I can’t feel them or anything touching them and second in vr I can’t see my feet. I use the controls thingy for setting my controls for takeoff.

10)I’ve so much to learn flying procedures, comm procedures, weapon systems, lighting systems, ase systems I guess you can say for as much as I know there’s 12 times that amount to learn or more just to survive. But that set down on tubelisi sure was nice from my POV, high entry, normally means crash.over speed when I hit the end of the runway,another typical out come is a crash.i dropped the speed and altitude before touch down mark, I was using the numbers they were wat up the runway. I’m not sure of there exact location in relation to mt sit down spot. Well I get with in 10’ agl and hover for a sec or two try to turn left looking for the numbers but she didn’t want to, probably my rt foot was the problem.but I stopped the motion long enough to then settle it down ever so softly.

 

A buddy how when we met were very similar in huey abilities it’s not his primary ac and he has me in every other aspect and we were tied in flying the huey. He’s flying several hour each day he can and if I’m not mistaken got his basic wings checkride this weekend and Fromm some of the shot he took made it look like he will be my very soon. He’s the second to pass me by like that.im just not that able to sit there days on day hurts. After a while and I need a break. Plus tweaking this and that to fget it working, like va, my jetseat etc. then there my research time where I’m studying.
