civilian traffic bugged

i am new to NTTR (got it with 2.5), so i don't know if this is a newly introduced bug, or just the way it has always been:

 

i feel that civilian autogen road traffic is a little bit weird. on some roads like highways there is very, very little traffic and it seems to consist only of white box-trucks.

on smaller roads traffic composition seems normal.

 

also i had the feeling, that the mission option to enforce traffic density from the mission editor had no effect (both in NTTR and new caucasus). i did not test that scientifically though, so i may have gotten that wrong...
