Hey all

 

Two questions one big one small. I'm new to mission building and if this is dumb ? Sorry.

 

#1 ive finished my mission and ran thru it a couple times and everything seems to work. But when I change the AI flights to client. For my squads to use on a flight night. About 1/4 of the mesages start to play right at start.

Instead of when they are supposed to. Anyhelp as to why.??

 

#2. I made an embark point to 2 helos and everything works when they get in AO and land except the guy doesnt get in Helo?

Regarding item 1, please post your .miz and I might be able to give some insight.

 

Regarding item 2, unfortunately embark/disembark seems to be broken in multiplayer at the moment. Not sure if it's working in singleplayer.

 

You can either create a workaround using flags, trigger zones, and multiple groups with custom radio items to spawn/despawn groups when helicopter pick them up or drop them off, or use a 3rd party transport script such as CTLD if you don't need complex scripting and messages based on the infantry's position once they are deployed.

How do I set a flag thing for that. so. What happens now is the helo gets in area, the guy pops smoke, he comes out the helo lands. But that is it. even though he is commanded to wmbark when in embark trigger. what spawn/despawn would I have to do.

When your helo lands in the pickup zone, set a flag to true and use GROUP DEACTIVATE to remove the first infantry unit.

 

When your helo arrives at the LZ, and the flag is true (meaning the unit has been "picked up") use GROUP ACTIVATE to spawn a second, late-activated infantry unit at that location.

 

As far as the end user can tell, they've picked up the guy and dropped the guy off; it's only you that knows the dirty secret that it is actually two separate guys. :)
