Capn kamikaze Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I was thinking that considering we have the F/A-18 and more importantly for this, the Gulf map coming up soon, that the total install size for DCS is really getting big, so would it be possible to install modules to different drives. It doesn't affect me yet, since I have about 100GB free on my DCS SSD drive, but if we could install map modules to another drive it would mean we wouldn't have to replace drives, and go through reinstalling everything on a new drive, just instead add drives as we need them.
David OC Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Not tried this but in those other sims they use Symbolic Links and store the huge amount of graphic data on many other drives. That's how they get around this problem. Not sure if this works for DCS. Should work unless the protection flags it somehow. i7-7700K OC @ 5Ghz | ASUS IX Hero MB | ASUS GTX 1080 Ti STRIX | 32GB Corsair 3000Mhz | Corsair H100i V2 Radiator | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe 500G SSD | Samsung 850 EVO 500G SSD | Corsair HX850i Platinum 850W | Oculus Rift | ASUS PG278Q 27-inch, 2560 x 1440, G-SYNC, 144Hz, 1ms | VKB Gunfighter Pro Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Download PDF Tutorial guides to help get up to speed with aircraft quickly and also great for taking a good look at the aircraft available for DCS before purchasing.
