TheMoose Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 In the mission editor. I heard that you can set the AI to take off when threats comes close to their base. Wondering if that function is the GAI? Assistance appreciated. Thanks in advance Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. Aeroscout Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Don't think so. You can set them to take off at a certain time. so, if a tank roles up, you can have them take off at the time the tank would arrive. Thanks for the quick responce. what is the GAI flight status you can set in editor? Aeroscout Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 hmm? I would just tell it to take off, at the right time, make a second, very close, attack waypoint, tell it to attack the target, then land again. TheMoose Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 Thanks, I will play with GAI mode to see what it actualy does, not sure GAI stands for Ground Air Interference? Anyhow, will play around with it, to see what it does. TheMoose Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 Yep, WOOT, GAI flight status, will make the AI take off only when threats are in the area. Thanks All. So thanks for that info. Will make my mission building more enjoyable. Shit after 5 years of flying lomac sky's, just found something new. Man this sim never stops to amaze me...:smartass: Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. Aeroscout Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 have fun! it's really a great sim, once we step back, and look at what we have rather than complain about every bug we see. And then I waited and waited but I never took off... So the moral is you need to be sure that the threats will be imminent if you do it this way .... :megalol: ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I'm sure that a little while ago someone posted details (on this Forum?) of the distance at which GAI tasked aircraft would react. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
Weta43 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 From memory & a few missions where I've used it - 60km with no AWAC/EWR, an infinite distance if they are present (bug) Cheers.
