Well for some to me unknown reason, I can't get to get Radar Slew Horizontal to work at all. I'me already using the Vertical slew on Cougar axis but it doesn't matter what axis I use for the horizontal slew... it just doesn't work.

I have LockOn v1.12a installed and I don't have a clue why this is so. I've tried MiG-29, Su-27 Su-33 and it just doesn't work.

I remember while back before Flaming Cliffs came out I had it working

but never really used it (I was probably still a LockOn noob at that time :music_whistling: ) but for a while now I noticed this no longer working so I thought it was disabled in v1.1

I flew online with a couple of good guys and came across hearing they are actually using this (don't know if it's mapped to an axis or buttons) and just got me thinking why it doesn't work on my end

Does anyone else have this issue or is this normal?

hm... this is what I found in v1.1 readme

"...

Corrected bugs and added features

...

Accurate radar azimuth settings have been included for Russian aircraft. These include discrete left, central, and right zones.

The vertical radar scan zone has been adjusted for Russian Fighters. You may manually adjust the azimuth scanning zone as before using the designated axis and key commands, or by inputting the range-angle to target.

..."

soo, from this it looks like russian aircraft have only discrete LEFT / CENTRE / RIGHT mode for radar horizontal scan... not analog (which is why they removed it from being able to be mapped to an analog axis.

I've tryied this in LockOn, setting two buttons commands for the radar horizontal slew (and I still have Cougar RANGE axis mapped to this in axis input section) the russian aircraft work fine with button command.

But I've also tried the F-15 and to my surprise the Cougar RANGE axis actually works like discrete wide and narrow radar horizontal scan... I am confused.

I know the F-15 avionics are not modeled good in LockOn so I don't know if this is realistic or not... but this is how it works for me now.

I have My H2 Button set up for the radar cursor but I'm not actually sure what you need the Slew for...

If its to move the beam from side to side I'm using T5 for the left, T4 for the right and T2 for up and T3 for down...

I've had it set this way for quite some time and it works very nicely....

I hope that this helps you...

Yeah, I got it figured out now... it's just that before you were able to put radar slewing on axis... now it can set to a button only (because it can be set to discrete left/centre/right only).

I just wasn't aware of this and thought something was wrong on my end.

And if you ask me why I need to slew radar beam for?

Well, if I set radar beam to left I will be able to fly at some 80deg right of the contact and still see him on radar... aaaaaaaand won't loose a lock on him when I'm beaming :D
