StandingCow Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 The carrier TACAN is apparently bugged to shut off after a certain amount of time or something like that (overheard on 104th stream). The workaround is to have the TACAN activate attribute on every waypoint, not just waypoint 0, and have lots of waypoints not just one that sends the ship 100 miles in a straight line. That's just what I heard. Worrazen Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 I also couldn't get this to work using the Free Weekend at the end of September 2018 while watching at all of the official academic series tutorial, it finds the tacan ID "TRK" but has no range info and pretty much nothing else, couldn't set a courseline, looking in the data page there was no GPS info for the station, I tried a number of things described here, nothing worked. The carrier was sitting still exactly lined up with Dubai Intl, about 30km off the coast. Well, turned out that "UNIT" isn't selected in the editor's default tacan waypoint action, so I set it to the only available unit, itself, according to UNIT NAME which is in the same general side panel. Modules: A-10C I/II, F/A-18C, Mig-21Bis, M-2000C, AJS-37, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, P-47, FC3, SC, CA, WW2AP, CE2. Terrains: NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf, Syria

Unless it always required this step? I suppose default waypoint actions shouldn't need more configuration, should work out of the box.
