Stumped: How the &^%$ do you reset all (to default) keyboard/Joystick bindings

Fouled up my joystick bindings, and in the process deleted, somehow, all my F-18 default keyboard bindings.

 

Going in-game into OPTIONS/CONTROLS and selecting ....

 

"DEFAULT" or

"RESET CATEGORY to DEFAULT"

 

.... do absolutely sweet fanny. The buttons simply don't work once you click on them.

 

What am I missing?

The easiest thing to do would be to have the drop down to "all", click on any binding for each controller then clicking on "clear category". Do this for each controller you have and everything will be unmapped. I do this right off the bat to clear out goofy DCS mapping seasons buttons to rudder pedals and clearing out view mappings.

 

Appreciate you trying to help; Done that sir, but the DEFAULT keyboard map button settings (as in, when the game was first downloaded/launched) don't re-appear?

 

I need to revert to these default keyboard settings. The in-game menu buttons ("default" etc) seem not intuitive at all, because pressing it populate zero default keyboard map settings.

 

Do I have to edit or delete some game file structure to get these default keyboard bindings back?

I'm guessing you have cleared out the keyboard bindings?

 

You do want to clear out the default bindings for your joystick or HOTAS setup and set these up yourself, I'm using CH HOTAS setup in the pictures below.

 

Switch to the F/A-18 of course...

 

 

 

 

Select aircraft then Switch to Axis using the drop down menu as seen in the picture below.

 

Tip: You can even switch to the search command in the drop down menu to find things you want to bind.

 

Switch to (HOTAS) in the drop drown menu to find all the standard normal joystick bindings you will mostly need.

Man, this is beyond kind. Thank you. Yes, have cleared out the keyboard bindings per accident, as in, there is not a single key bind under the KEYBOARD controller. So how do I get them back, under the KEYBOARD heading?

 

 

Ahhh, EUREKA, got it! All my Keyboard default settings are back. :)

Do mind sharing how you managed to get the default settings back?  I have the same problem.  It looks like the keyboard mappings are re-populated, but if I launch the game, no controls work at all.  Thanks in advance.

try to delete the specific input folder/file  in the specific aircraft folder in you saved games\DCS folder.
