farmertom Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I noticed that if I pull my VR Oculus Rift headset off of my face about one inch the view gets very sharp. I use +3 diopter reading glasses(not while using the Rift) my IPD on the Rift is set to 70 and in DCS I have the IPD set to 70 also. So is there a way in software to duplicate the headset focal length? Or is there a way to do this with the physical Rift headset. Thanks for your suggestions.
Quadg Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 try pitching the screen on your face. up and down. twist it till it clicks. if the focal length is above or below eye line then pulling it off your face may move your eye into the focal length. so try pitching the screen to angle it into your eyes. the rift sweet spot can be a pain to find. My Rig: AM5 7950X, 32GB DDR5 6000, M2 SSD, EVGA 1080 Superclocked, Warthog Throttle and Stick, MFG Crosswinds, Oculus Rift.
FastForward Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 vrcover.com sells facial interfaces with a thicker foam, maybe it could be useful for you ? https://vrcover.com/product/oculus-rift-facial-interface-foam-replacement-standard-set-2/
farmertom Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 I have tried to move the headset around and that has helped some but it seems to slide back to its original position and back out of focus. So I have ordered some vrcover facial interfaces not only as a replacements for my worn out foam interfaces but hopefully to help with this problem.. I have seen some Rift facial interfaces on Thingverse. I may try to 3d print a thicker interface if nothing else works...thanks guys.
