How do you make TACAN follow the boat?

(Apologies if this isn't the right subforum for this. Since the Stennis module hasn't been released as standalone, this seems the right place for the moment. I'm also not sure if it's a bug or not.)

 

 

When spawning a carrier with TACAN, it seems the beacon is anchored on the initial spawn point, left behind while the boat steams on (I'm assuming this isn't how it works IRL). My carrier is set on a speed of 27 kts, so if I park a Hornet on the carrier I can see the TACAN range start to increase. After just 45 seconds, the TACAN range has changed from 0.1 to 1.0.

 

This is obviously a problem because it renders TACAN useless as an accurate way to determine range from carrier in a traffic pattern.

So is there a way to make the beacon follow the boat?

 

 

I've attached 3 screenshots. The first 2 should show the HSI with TACAN information. No changes were made between the 2 readings, only time has passed.

The third shows my carrier and TACAN settings in Mission Editor.

That's not Tacan. the Circle symbol is a waypoint which explains why its not moving with the ship. I see you have TCN selected but check you have the Tacan channel dialled in and its turned on. You will know when its showing you the tacan station when it gives you range and bearing to the station in the area next to the TCN box

Also, when you have the correct TACAN station tuned, you'll see a TACAN symbol on the HSI showing the location of the TACAN.

And a read out of bearing and distance depending on the TACAN mode selected in the upper left of EHSI.
