diamator Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Hello Is it normal that I am just getting rudder values of 4 to 7 in the lectures given by the FLCS panel in the DDI? When in external view I am always gettin the impression that the rudder movement is nearly non existent. The reaction inside the cockpit of the F18C is muuuuuuch less responsive than the one I get in the M200C for example. I am using MFG Crosswinds but with the X55 stick Z-axis the sensation is the same. Thanks
swagchimp Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Are you talking about full deflection? That depends on airspeed and various other flight parameters. I think if you're around 200-250 KCAS and not too high you should get almost the full 40° to either side, so you can try that. However, sluggish/ineffective rudder response at high speed is to be expected. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Thanks As Swag said there is lots of factor, as on ground trimmed for takeoff i get more or less because of my setting (i tuned down saturation to avoid crazy rocking on take off and landings on runways) -27/+30 or so (think max should be 40, not sure), but if i get in my airborn aircraft to test it out at around 350 kts/+ about 15 000 ft, i get average read outs as you do. And if you look on the outside viww ans you fly and input full rudder, you'll see them work and adjust as the system/FC adjust them to the situation.
