while the control editor in dcs is already very, very good, i still got an idea for an improvment:

1) a meta option to modify an axis to act like a button, so you could map buttons to certain values.

f.e. you could use a slider-axis to map every value over 75% to trigger a new virtual button press and every value under 25% to trigger another virtual button.

- with that you could f.e. use a vacant slider-axis as a landing gear lever

- or you could assign different "virtual" keys as modifiers and pushing the slider-axis up and down, would activate different modifiers, which would basically act as switch modifiers then.
- having the slider in up position would then allow for a different control mode than having it in down position. should be very intuitive also in VR, as you can clearly feel in which mdoe you are in - brilliant!

2) related to that, every normal button mapping should have an option, where you could change if the button is supposed to be held, or if it is just a single button press. this would of course supplement my original suggestion, but would also be useful for home-made input devices that have real toggle switches.

- nothing fancy, but i would assume that some functions would not work correctly at the moment if the button is held in position, while dcs expects just a single press.

My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟

*now with 17% more wishes compared to the original
