does anyone else have this problem?

i have flaming cliffs (download version) patched to 1.12a, i have tried downloading and installing 1.12b patch but every time i try to install it says error code 3 and exits?

also, the options menu for time and weather! how do you adjust the time of day the mission takes place, for me it is allways during the day, but i have seen in game footage on the net (you tube) of flying during sun sets and at night? also the weather options, for me the cloud thickness and density sliders do nothing. untill i have density rght up to 10 then it goes to really thick blanket of cloud, but put the slider to 9 and it is slight cloud cover and briliant sunshine, just the same as if the slider was at possition 1. is it just my install or are these known bugs???

any help would be appreciated.

Mission Time:

You can change the time in the coalitions screen or the briefing screen (heed for the clock). If you already have units in your mission then heed their spawntime, too (click on the units symbol and look at the spawntime at the bottom of the screen ... it should be the same the time or earlier then the mission starts).

Weather:

That is no bug with the density. It is the bad cloud system in Lock On. Don't expect MS Flightsimulator quality weather. But the density slider actually doesn't do nothing. Setting the slider to 1 you have no clouds but with values of 7 or 8 there are many clouds visible.

Russ|White - you are not the first person to ask this question. Check out this post.....

The time is shown as 001/12:00 and the number before the "/" is the day which you can also change as mentioned in the post I gave the link for.

Weather.

As Roi Danton said, the weather slider seems to alter the cloud density very little between no clouds and full overcast. You can get nice effects by altering the visibility range. When flying high you get a nice haze effect that can add to sunrises/sunsets and make them look hazy. A touch of thin fog in the hilly areas near the coast can look good too, it fills the bottom of valleys near the coast and fades out as the valley floors rise inland.

Add some wind at ground level. it will move the smoke from chimneys or things you blow up, it's boring when the smoke always goes straight up. Adding wind in a particular direction can swap which end of the runway the ILS will guide you in to, plus some crosswind can make for a more challenging landing.

Take the time to experiment, you can do more with that page than you might first think......
