what happened to my serial number?

Back in January I reinstalled Lock On when I completed the first build of my present computer...

 

At that time I had some problems installing Flaming Cliffs... So I without worrying to much, I thought that I would just go ahead and buy it again...

 

So after the purchase I tried to install it automatically...And It wouldn't install and so I then tried to install it manually.. This failed as well,

 

I was beginning to get confused so I though that the purchase didn't take so I purchased it again. and went through the installation procedure and again it failed..

The next thing that I did was go to the order screen and copy the serial number and then went back and installed it manually using the copied serial number.. Now it worked and installed Flaming Cliffs, but with one exception I was told that this was my last allowable install with this serial number..

 

Ok... well last week I changed my motherboard and tried to install Flaming Cliffs...

 

I had forgotten about the purchases in January, and that I was never able to use them...So of course the game wouldn't install automatically.. I then purchased the game again...and this time copied the serial number listed on the purchase screen.. I pasted this into the manual installation screen and clicked install.. I then received a message that this serial number had no installations left and I had to enter another serial number...

 

So I've purchased this three times and with the initial purchase it's up to 4 times and I still cant install Flaming Cliffs... Actually when the game is purchased the serial number on the purchase screen should be updated automatically... And now it's been a long time and I still haven't heard from star force... How boring...

Why in the world do you keep buying it??? Just email ED and tell them about your problem... no need to throw away money like that... well unless you have so much you don't know what to do with it... OR... you are doing this on purpose so you want to please ED :D

 

Seriously though... when you get activation working save the registry... and always use manual activation procedure. It worked for me every time (although I think I used it only 2-3 times as I always save the registry and just reuse it when I reinstall)

Well I did save it but for some reason it doesn't work... As far as buying Flaming Cliffs more then once I think that you can see from my above explaination how this happened..

 

But at this point I don't really care what happened, I just want to get back to flyin' again... the plain vanilla version of Lock On doesn't even have 6DOF ...

Flaming Cliffs doesn't have 6Dof either... it has 3. But anyway, unless you changed some of the harware then tried to reinstall and reuse the saved registry it can be it won't work (because of the hardware configuration change) but even then if you purchase FC once you get more then 1 activation key... should still last for a while (unless you keep reinstalling and using new activations).

 

Can it be that registry saving utlity is corrupted and it doesn't save the registry properly??? I really don't know... I wish I could help you.

I've brought this to the attention of my friends at ED... So I'm waiting for Starforce to contact me... If Starforce takes to long, then Ed will I guess contact them to get this issue cleared up.. It's just haveing to wait is what really sucks.. :lol:

Blaze, on your lockon.ru page, you should see all of the serial numbers you have purchased, not just the most recent. If you only see one, then something went wrong in the purchase process. Best of luck to you in getting that sorted out, bro. :)

 

Thanks for information Iggy.. I'll continue to search.. I still haven't heard from StarFarce, or Ed's administration... At this rate I might just wait Black Shark...

After one week of trying to get Flaming Cliffs installed again, I've finally accomplished it....

 

I never had a problem with Star Force until now ..

 

So anyway that's over with and I'm beginning to install all of my favorite mods and addons ..

 

I'm glad that's over with...
