lmp Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Hi, I did a quick search and surprisingly couldn't find anybody mentioning it. The radial menu looks nifty and all, but isn't anyone bothered by the fact that it covers so much of the screen? Right now I can, say, tell my wingman to cover me without losing sight of the banding I'm trying to follow. The comms menu is small, in the corner of the screen and generally not getting in the way of anything. The Jester menu will practically guarantee losing sight of your target.
antagonist Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 TBH I think it needs to be a certain size in case they're making it clickable - which would IMO be the way to go for players using VR.
QuiGon Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 I don't think it's that big of an issue, because you will most likely assign the critical commands (e.g. cover me) to your HOTAS anyways instead of using the radial menu for it. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
lmp Posted October 9, 2018 Author Posted October 9, 2018 I typically don't have buttons to spare on my HOTAS. I'd prefer a solution which addresses the problem rather than works around it. Perhaps making the menu more transparent or allowing players to choose between several styles?
Tic-Tac Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 I'm really hoping there will be key strokes associated so we can set it up for Voice Attack, that would be nice...then maybe even hide the graphic once you get the hang of things...

I'm pretty sure there will be key assignments for the Jester commands, so you won't have to use the Jester menu for them, if you have them mapped.
